Morah Katie: We have a lot of apple activities in our classroom. What are we preparing for?
Moshe: Rosh Hashanah is a sweet new year. We dip apples in honey.
Evan: We dip apples in honey on Rosh Hashanah.
Morah Katie: Why?
Evan: We want it to be sweet.
Morah Katie: What is IT?
Evan: The holiday, to be sweet.
Morah Katie: What happens after the holiday?
Evan: Well the whole year should be sweet.
Moshe: If someone is struggling you can invite them to play.
Evan: If someone is alone you can ask them to play.
Eli: You can help.
Morah Katie: What is something you can do to have a sweet new year?
Eli: Helping.
Evan: You just want to be nice to people.
Morah Katie:  What is a Shofar?
Moshe: A thing that Rabbi blows to remind it’s a sweet New Year.
Kenya: He blows it.

Moshe: Pomegranates have lots of seeds, for  a lot of blessings and a sweet new year.
Morah Tzivie: Pomegranates have so many, so many seeds.  We hope Hashem will send us so many good things this new year.

Our Rosh Hashanah sensory box was fun for discovery, and for calming.

We created sweet cereal apples in red, yellow and green.

Brexton: Morah Katie, it's green circles, red circles, yellow circles.
Morah Katie: I see the green, red, and yellow circles also.

 Fun apple science:
Apple boats
Morah Katie: Do you think apples will sink or float?
Moshe: Float.
Morah Katie: Let's make boats and find out.
Moshe: It is spinning and floating!
Shoshi was surprised her apple boat floated.
Gwen noticed there was a yellow, red and green boat, just like the apples all around our classroom.
